Ladoja Crowned 44th Olubadan, to Receive Staff of Office at Mapo Hall

Former Oyo State Governor, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, has been crowned the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.

The coronation took place at the Ose Meji Temple in Ibadan South-East Local Government Area, where he performed the traditional rites after receiving the Akoko leaf at the Labosinde Compound, Oja’ba, Ibadan.

Oba Ladoja will be formally presented with the staff and instrument of office by Governor Seyi Makinde at a ceremony scheduled to hold at the historic Mapo Hall.

Governor Makinde, who cut short his annual leave to attend the event, is expected to personally oversee the official installation.

The new monarch succeeds the 43rd Olubadan, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, who passed away on Monday, July 7, 2025.
